Lani Zimmer (she/her)

Lani is a warm, passionate and caring teacher who harnesses her knowledge as an informed singing teacher and accomplished vocalist to best assist her students. Lani’s commitment to musical education is underpinned by a blend of empathy-led teaching practices and anatomical insights, creating an environment where students are encouraged, challenged and empowered. She sees singing as a transformative process, enabling individuals to unlock layers of emotion, discover newfound confidence, and embrace their identity.

Lani studied at Monash University in Melbourne, where she earned her Bachelor of Music, specialising in Jazz and Improvisation. Her commitment to continuous improvement led her to enriching experiences including completing a Jazz Intensive at NYU, New York, The Vocal Educator Toolkit, Estill Levels 1 & 2 and Creative Mindset Coaching at Echo.

In the solo spotlight, Lani captivates audiences with performances at iconic venues like the Melbourne Recital Centre, The Jazzlab and The Night Cat.

Lani’s versatility extends to singing live backing vocals for Melbourne-based artists, harmonising in Melbourne-based gospel/rnb choir Halo Vocal Ensemble, lending her voice to diverse studio and recording projects and regular corporate events. She hopes to use her experiences in the Melbourne music scene to enrich and support her students, ensuring professional singers are equipped to manage the demands of a high vocal load on their voice.
